The City of Montreal is attempting to create a by-law
that would effectively outlaw masks at all political rallies and outdoor
demonstrations. Not only is this proposed law in violation of Section 2B of
the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, but it is also an act of
artistic censorship against theatrical activists who take part in
demonstrations.
Montreal’s infringement Festival and Optative Theatrical Laboratories
believe in free speech and strongly oppose these new Orwellian measures.

La ville de Montréal est actuellement
en train d'essayer de créer une loi municipale déclarant illégaux les
masques portés lors de tout rassemblement politique et de toute
démonstration en plein air.
Non seulement dans ce projet de loi l'on retrouve une violation de la
section 2B de la Charte Canadienne des Droits et de la Liberté, mais en
plus, il s'agit d'un acte de censure artistique contre les activistes
théâtraux qui prennent part aux démonstrations.
Le festival Infringement de Montréal et les laboratoires théâtral Optatif
croit a la droit de s'exprimer librement et sont fortement opposées aux
restrictions Orwelliennes proposés. On vous demande de communiquer vos
sentiments aux officiels municipales:
