BND 07: The Chartwells Tour - Why we chose them
Chartwells, a division of Compass Group Canada, is the exclusive food service provider at Concordia University. Their monopoly extends throughout both campuses and even to club spaces, dormitories and vending machines. They are attempting to monopolize food services at McGill University as well. They have used their power and influence to:
* Kick out the student-run Architecture Café and take over the space
* Try and ban club's bake sales on campus
* Bring in more corporate influence by signing deals with Starbucks and Tim Hortons
* Force all students staying in residence to buy their Meal Plan
